Software Tester, Vienna

Henley & Partners' continued growth has created the need for the role of a Software Tester, based in the firm's Vienna office. The candidate will be required to support the growth and expansion of our various corporate services, reporting to the Head of Group IT and working in close connection with various Project Managers in Vienna.

The ideal candidate must hold a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, must be trained in software testing techniques, must be familiar with software deployed as web-based applications or as stand-alone applications for smart devices (iOS and Android-based), and must also have project management experience and the people skills to work in an international organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing of intranet components for a SharePoint-based intranet, for our websites (including web-based scripts), workflows and code snippets for our CRM system and smart phone apps (for iOS and Android systems)
  • Perform tests including of the following types: unit, functional, integration, regression, system, performance, stress, scalability, security, user acceptance
  • Produce fully documented test designs
  • Create and maintain proper test documentation, including historical analysis of test results and corrections applied
  • Check application instructions for users for correctness and simplicity
  • Carry out testing, providing documented results, especially of anomalies, bugs, defects or other unexpected results
  • Feed the test results back to the corresponding developers for correction/improvement
  • Participate in application planning and project management meetings

Essential Skills

  • A degree or equivalent in Computer Science, engineering or other related discipline
  • Demonstrable experience in software testing for at least 5 years
  • Experience with software testing involving all of the types described in the responsibilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Problem solving skills, plus the ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail, beyond competent technical skills
  • The ability to work in a team and individually
  • Organizational skills with the capability of working towards tight deadlines

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in the installation and basic configuration of MS SharePoint systems
  • An ability to recognize and respond to diverse thinking styles, learning styles, cultural qualities and a global mind-set

Desirable Skills

  • Certification with any of the internationally recognized testing organizations is highly regarded
  • An ability to recognize and respond to diverse thinking styles, learning styles, cultural qualities and a global mind-set
