Dr. Mustafa Yağcı is a Senior Economist at the Department of Economic Research and Statistics at the Islamic Development Bank Institute. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at Istanbul Bilgi University and London School of Economics. After completing a master’s degree in economics at the University of Iowa, he worked in the Islamic finance industry. He completed his PhD in political science and international relations at Koc University, Istanbul with a focus on international and comparative political economy, political economy of development, and public policy. Having published academic books and articles, he lectured several courses at universities and served as a consultant to international organizations. With his interdisciplinary research agenda and experience in the private sector and international organizations he aims to push the limits of disciplinary boundaries with practical policy implications for international development.
