Prof. Trevor Williams is the former Chief Economist at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, a position he held for well over 10 years.
He is a visiting Professor at the University of Derby, rotating Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs’ Shadow Monetary Policy Committee, and co-author of Trading Economics: A Guide to Economic Statistics for Practitioners (with Victoria Turton).
Prof. Williams also lectures at St Mary’s University, Cardiff and Cardiff University. He previously worked at the UK’s Government Economic Service and sits on various charities, including Through the Looking Glass and as patron of Reach Society and former chairman of Ballet Black.
Prof. Williams now runs a consultancy that specializes in economic analysis encompassing ‘big data’ to better understand a fast-changing global economy and its political context, namely, its political economy. He is also the Co-founder of FXGuard, a risk management firm specializing in helping companies reduce foreign exchange risk in their businesses from trading internationally.
