The Henley & Partners Forum 2014

28 - 29 May 2014, Malta

The Henley & Partners Forum is the sister event to the Global Residence & Citizenship Conference held every year in November for nearly 10 years. It provides an update on the latest developments and opportunities in the field of citizenship, residence and investor immigration planning.

The Henley & Partners Forum 2014 will be held at the Westin Dragonara Resort in Malta. We are bringing our signature spring event to Malta this year on the occasion of the launch of the country’s Individual Investor Program. As all eyes are on Malta now, there is a very high interest from professionals and clients around the world that will come to Malta to meet together with the industry leader as well as local Maltese financial service providers and the Government of Malta.

The program touches on the latest developments in residence and citizenship planning. Indeed, in recent months there have been some important changes worldwide with far-reaching consequences. Will the new Malta Citizenship-by-Investment program really be a game-changer?  What will the Canadian Government’s decision on terminating the Canadian Federal Immigrant Investor Program do to this industry? Will the U.S. EB-5 program benefit or will it possibly be closed as well?  What is the future of the Caribbean Citizenship-by-Investment programs in view of increased regional competition? Will Switzerland become more attractive for UHNW individuals and families following the vote to impose restrictions on immigration and potentially cancel the agreement on free movement with the European Union?

Join us in welcoming high-level government officials from Malta and other countries. We are also pleased to announce the participation of academic leaders in the field, including Prof. Dimitry Kochenov, Chair in EU Constitutional Law at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, and Prof. Peter D. Spiro of Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia, who among others will join in a high-level panel discussion on the future of investor immigration and citizenship in Europe together with Julia Onslow-Cole, Global Head of Immigration of PwC, Christian H. Kälin, Head of Residence and Citizenship Practice Group of Henley & Partners, and senior Government representatives.

Following a pre-conference networking cocktail reception in the evening of 28 May, a packed program will provide the latest updates trends and first-hand information from leading professionals to an expected 150+ delegates from all over the world.

Confirmed speakers for the 2014 spring conference include:

  • The Hon. Dr. Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta
  • The Hon. Manuel Mallia, Minister for Home Affairs and National Security, Malta
  • The Hon. Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis

As every year, the highly successful concept of our spring event is based on the very careful selection of speakers and topics. This includes in particular that any presentations which are done by sponsors must fit the overall agenda of the conference, and exhibition space is available to engage with conference delegates during the breaks between the conference sessions as well as during lunch.
