Charles Philips is a researcher and consultant specialised in energy and climate change policy in the Middle East. He is currently based in Doha, Qatar where he works as a policy researcher at the Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute. His work aims to advance energy, economic, and climate change policy in Qatar and the GCC region in order to better align the Middle East with global climate change targets. Prior to this, Charles was a consultant for Oxford Business Group - a global economic research and advisory firm specialising in emerging markets. He has an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford (2018) and a BA in International Relations and Middle East Studies from University of Exeter (2015). His work has included extended periods of in-country field research in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria.
