The Global Leader in
Residence and Citizenship Planning

Highlights of the 9th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference

4 November 2015

The 9th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference (GRCC) was held in Dubai this week, and delivered on its promise to be the most important event in this field.

Alternative residence and citizenship programs have become an increasingly important aspect of international private client planning, and the GRCC focused closely on the most interesting options currently available to the international client.

With more than 300 delegates in attendance, and an outstanding panel of speakers including the Honorable Dr. Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Malta, and the Honorable Demetris Syllouris, the Government Coalition Party Leader and Advisor to the President of Cyprus on Foreign Direct Investments, attendees received detailed first-hand information on the latest developments in the field of residence and citizenship planning.

Dr. Muscat, who took office as Prime Minister of Malta in 2013, delivered a powerful keynote address on how his island nation is setting a new standard in attracting foreign capital and talent through the world’s most advanced citizenship-by-investment program.

There was a thought-provoking and stimulating exchange of information from the panel of 40 innovative speakers, which included Amin Awad, the Head of Middle East and Africa Operations for UNHCR; Daniel Levy, the former Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York; and Professor Dimitry Kochenov, Chair in EU Constitutional and Citizenship Law at the University of Groningen.

Entertainment at the three day conference included Shelley Frost, Dubai’s premiere electric harpist who performed a mixture of chill-out and lounge tracks from inside a giant LED lit globe, and Jay Franklin, an American vocalist with an incredible four octave range.
