Namira Salim Appointed to the Henley & Partners Board of Advisors

London, Wednesday 05 July 2017

World-renowned polar explorer, artist, honorary diplomat and Founder of Space Trust, Namira Salim, has been appointed to the Henley & Partners Board of Advisors. The global residence and citizenship planning firm’s Board of Advisors is an important strategic body which advises and consults senior management on key decisions, new business ideas, and philanthropic initiatives.

“Being accepted to the Henley & Partners Board of Advisors is a great honor, and I am proud to work with a firm that has invested a significant amount of resources in philanthropic initiatives. I hope that I can further contribute and provide counsel with my knowledge and experience in utilizing space as a tool for developing innovative solutions for a peaceful world. Together with Henley & Partners, we can inspire people to become global citizens, view the world beyond geographical and political boundaries and as one humanity — as seen from space.  Together, we can honor the majesty of space as a timeless asset for inspiring peace and trust beyond man-made borders,” says Salim.

Henley & Partners’ Group Chairman and CEO, Dr. Christian H. Kälin, says, “We are privileged to welcome Namira Salim to the Henley & Partners family. She brings her formidable talents, skills and influence, and we look forward to learning and benefiting from her wealth of experience.”

Salim has an impressive collection of ‘firsts’.  She is the first future South Asian Space Tourist, the first potential Pakistani Astronaut, the first Asian to skydive over Mount Everest, the first Pakistani and first woman from Monaco to have reached both the North and South Poles, and a Founder Astronaut of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, the first commercial space liner in the world. She is also the Founder and Chairperson of Space Trust, a non-profit initiative that promotes space as the new frontier for peace.

Henley & Partners’ Head of Philanthropy, Paola De Leo, adds, “In our experience, individuals who recognize themselves as global citizens are also people who naturally place their identity as part of a global community over and above their identity as a citizen of a particular nation or place. They perceive a global responsibility and are concerned with global causes, and Namira Salim is one such individual.”

Salim joins Eric G. Major, John Bender, Daniel Goldscheider, Stephen Gray, Prof. Dr. Dimitry Kochenov, Dr. Marshall Langer, Bill Liao, Prof. Dr. Prieur Du Plessis and Daniel Truchi on the Henley & Partners Board of Advisors.
