Overview

Henley & Partners is proud to announce its next seminar series will be taking place in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines in September this year.

The OECD Common Reporting Standard (CRS) has now been implemented in the major financial centers of both Singapore and Hong Kong. On 9 March 2018, the OECD issued the Model Mandatory Disclosure Rules (MDRs) for CRS Avoidance Arrangements and Opaque Offshore Structures (MDRs). The MDRs are intended to strengthen compliance with the CRS and deter arrangements designed to circumvent CRS reporting.

These seminars will be presented by Zac Lucas, Founder and Head of Legal at Centenal Pte. Ltd. Lucas who will discuss the reporting implications for clients holding financial accounts in Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as the recently issued OECD MDRs which are intended to deter arrangements designed to circumvent CRS Reporting.

Lucas will explain how the MDRs will potentially affect business professionals (whether lawyers, private bankers or wealth planners) and regulated entities (such as licensed trust companies) that are or may previously have been involved in the promotion of CRS Avoidance Arrangements.

We are also pleased to announce that Vistra, a leading global trust, fund administration, and corporate services provider, will talk about the company’s operations and how it can help clients to maximize what is possible in international business.

Dominic Volek, Member of the Management Board and Head Southeast Asia for Henley & Partners, will also provide invaluable insights into the new citizenship-by-investment programs that will soon be launched in Moldova and Montenegro.
