Henley & Partners is pleased to announce that Dominique Bolli, Head of Government Advisory, will be speaking at the seventh annual EU-Southeast Europe Summit, organized by Economist Events, in Belgrade, Serbia from 4–5 October 2018.
Without a doubt, the year 2019 is set to be pivotal for the Balkan region. In a ceremony replete with symbolism, Greece and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia met in the Prespes lake district for the signing of an agreement to end the decades long dispute leading to the renaming of Greece’s northern neighbor paving the way for the country’s accession to the EU and NATO. Negotiations with the Western Balkan countries are also ongoing. On the other hand, Southeast Europe now has the opportunity for bold policy initiatives to boost innovation and competitiveness and to raise the skills and education level. In a nutshell – it should fulfill its potential for growth and enhance its attractiveness as an investment location.
Serbia has passed through a period of dramatic change, managing a rapidly evolving political and economic environment. Serbia hopes to achieve EU accession by 2025. Significant progress has been made so far in structural and institutional reforms. Most importantly, investment growth is picking up as Serbia’s improved business environment and prospective EU integration make the country more attractive to investors.
