Global Mobility Report

Overview

The resumption of regular international travel continues to be significantly obstructed by Covid-19. While certain countries are forging ahead with vaccinating their populations, most developing nations are progressing very slowly, hampered by a lack of resources and poor supplies. Borders remain firmly closed in several countries, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, while many others continue to ban travelers from high-risk regions.

Against this backdrop of uncertainty and precariousness, high-net-worth investors and entrepreneurs, including those from advanced economies with premium passports, are looking to create portfolios of complementary citizenship and residence options through investment migration programs to access health security and optionality in terms of where they and their families can live, conduct business, study, and invest.

With restricted mobility the status quo, the latest results and research from the Henley Passport Index demonstrate that the gap between theoretical and actual travel freedom remains stark.

The Global Mobility Report 2021 Q3 was published on 6 July 2021.
