Yes, family members such as a spouse, de facto or civil partner, and dependent children under 23 can be included in the NIV application.
There are no residence requirements for the National Innovation Visa. However, maintaining permanent residence status becomes more difficult after the initial five-year visa expires if the visa holder has not spent at least two years in Australia within each five-year period.
Required documents include evidence of exceptional and outstanding achievements, a nomination by a relevant government agency or organization, the invitation letter to apply, along with other standard supporting documents.
Only individuals who receive an invitation to apply from the Department of Home Affairs can apply for the National Innovation Visa. The EOI allows candidates to formally express their interest in the program and highlight their skills and achievements.
Yes, NIV holders may apply for Australian citizenship after meeting the residence requirements.
Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Department of Home Affairs and await an invitation. Once invited, they complete and submit the visa application within 60 days.
