Dr. Victoria Finn is currently a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute, Italy, and an Affiliated Researcher at the Instituto de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales (Institute of Research in Social Sciences) in Chile. She also serves as an elected Co-Convener for the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Standing Group on Migration and Ethnicity and Executive Council Officer for the American Political Science Association (APSA) Migration and Citizenship Section.
She holds a PhD in Political Science from Universidad Diego Portales, Chile, and a PhD in Humanities from Leiden University, the Netherlands (2021), as well as an MA in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, US (2013).
As a migration scholar, she has worked in research centers, policy institutes, and international organizations in seven countries. Previously analyzing migration within the fields of international development and labor economics, her current research areas include migrant political participation, citizenship, and migration governance in South America. In her region of specialization, her academic work has been published in Colombia Internacional, Revista Interdisciplinar da Mobilidade Humana, and Revista Andina de Estudios Políticos, as well as in journals such as Citizenship Studies, Migration Letters, International Political Science Review, and Latin American Policy.
