There is no minimum physical stay requirement to maintain permanent residence status, provided that the qualifying investment is maintained and all legal conditions are fulfilled.
Applicants must provide a valid passport, proof of a legitimate source of funds, evidence of the qualifying investment, a clean criminal record certificate, confirmation of a valid Type D visa, and proof of holding a EUR bank account in an FATF-compliant jurisdiction, along with other required supporting documentation.
The process begins with preliminary due diligence and preparation of documentation. After selecting a qualifying investment option and completing the investment, the applicant applies for a Type D visa. Upon entry into Bulgaria, the application for permanent residence is submitted to the Ministry of Interior. Following approval and biometric registration, the permanent residence card is issued and is valid for five years, renewable thereafter.
